Biography
Farhan Ahmed grew up in the vibrant Bandra neighbourhood of Mumbai, where skate parks and hip hop battles coexist with Bollywood studios and art galleries. His introduction to dance came through the local b-boy scene, where he learned breaking, popping, and locking from older crew members who had themselves learned from YouTube videos of international competitions. By sixteen, Farhan was one of Mumbai's most respected b-boys, winning the Red Bull BC One India qualifiers and representing the country at international battles.
But Farhan's ambitions extended beyond competitive dance. Fascinated by the physical possibilities of the human body, he began training in acrobatics at the Mumbai Circus Academy, adding flips, tumbles, and aerial skills to his already impressive movement vocabulary. This combination of street dance and acrobatic ability caught the attention of Bollywood choreographer Bosco Martis, who hired Farhan as a backup dancer for several major productions.
His acting debut in Street Kings (2023), a Hindi musical drama about Mumbai's underground dance battle scene directed by Remo D'Souza, was a breakout moment. Playing a young man from the chawls of Bandra who uses dance as an escape from poverty, Farhan brought raw authenticity and jaw-dropping physical ability to the role. His solo dance sequence in the film's climax, which combined breakdancing with acrobatic flips and was performed in a single take, became the most replayed scene on the film's OTT release. He followed this with the action-comedy Udan Khatola, where his acrobatic skills were deployed in inventive action sequences.
