Biography
Kabir Dhillon was a sporting prodigy who played cricket for the Punjab under-19 team and was tipped as a future India fast bowler. Growing up in Chandigarh's Sector 42, where the cricket grounds are as sacred as the city's famous gardens, Kabir lived and breathed the sport from age six. His fierce pace bowling and athletic fielding earned him comparisons to legendary Punjab fast bowlers, and by eighteen he was on the radar of multiple IPL franchises. But a persistent stress fracture in his lower back forced Kabir to retire from competitive cricket at twenty-one. Devastated but determined to channel his competitive energy elsewhere, he turned to boxing, training at the Chandigarh Boxing Club and quickly becoming a formidable amateur fighter. It was during a boxing tournament that Punjabi film director Amrit Maan noticed Kabir's screen-ready looks and natural charisma and suggested he try acting. Kabir enrolled at the Whistling Woods International Institute in Mumbai, where his athletic discipline translated into an impressive work ethic as a student actor. His classmates were struck by his physical presence and his ability to command attention in any room. His acting debut in Boundary (2023), a Punjabi sports drama about a cricketer's comeback from injury directed by Anurag Singh, was drawn directly from his own experience. The film's cricket sequences were some of the most authentic ever filmed, and Kabir's emotional portrayal of athletic heartbreak resonated with audiences across India. He followed this with the Hindi boxing drama Mukka, where his real boxing skills brought unmatched authenticity to the ring sequences.
