Maricia Dumas-Combe
Prop & Costume Maker | Practical Effects, Sculpting, Mould Making & Creative Fabrication
I’m a French prop and costume maker with three years of professional experience at the National Theatre of Strasbourg in France. My work combines costume construction and garment making with hands-on prop fabrication, sculpting, mould making and casting, painting, decorative finishes and three-dimensional object making.
I enjoy working with a wide range of materials and techniques to bring creative concepts to life, from costume pieces and wearable props to sculptural objects and practical set elements. I’m comfortable taking projects from fabrication through to finishing, solving practical challenges and adapting my approach to the needs of each production.
Alongside my workshop experience, I’ve worked backstage in theatre and assisted with set construction, installations, pack-ins and pack-outs in New Zealand. I’m curious, resourceful and always keen to learn new techniques and explore different ways of making.
Currently based in Sydney, Australia, I’m interested in opportunities across film, television, theatre and creative production, particularly in prop making, costume fabrication and practical, hands-on workshop work.
