Ravi Shankar

Ravi Shankar's obsession with martial arts began at age eight when his father, a retired Indian Army Subedar, took him to watch a Kalaripayattu demonstration at the India International Trade Fair in Delhi. Within a week, young Ravi had enrolled in his first martial arts class at the Delhi Kalari Academy, and within a year he was the most dedicated student in the dojo. By his late teens, Ravi held black belts in Karate and Taekwondo, had won national-level medals in both disciplines, and had begun training in mixed martial arts. After completing his B.A. in Physical Education from Delhi University, Ravi moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in action filmmaking. He trained under veteran stunt coordinator Sham Kaushal and quickly earned a reputation for his precision, fearlessness, and safety-conscious approach to stunt work. His big break came when he was hired as the personal stunt double for a major Bollywood star in the action blockbuster Yuddh (2022), where his performance of a rooftop chase sequence across Old Delhi earned him industry recognition. Ravi transitioned from stunt work to on-camera acting with his debut in Fauladi Haath (2023), a Hindi action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand, where he played a martial arts instructor drawn into a criminal conspiracy. The role demanded both incredible physicality and emotional vulnerability, and Ravi surprised critics with his dramatic range. He followed this with the action-packed Commando Returns, where he performed all his own stunts including a climactic fight atop a moving train.
