Swati Rao

Swati Rao grew up in Visakhapatnam, known locally as Vizag, where the Bay of Bengal's crashing waves provided a constant rhythmic backdrop to her childhood. Her mother, a Kuchipudi teacher at the local Kalakshetram, introduced Swati to the dance form at age five. Kuchipudi's unique combination of pure dance, dramatic storytelling, and live musical accompaniment fascinated Swati, and she threw herself into training with a dedication that surprised even her guru. After completing her B.A. in Journalism from Andhra University, Swati moved to Hyderabad to explore opportunities in voice-over and media. Her clear, expressive voice and her dancer's sense of rhythm and timing made her a natural for commercial voice-over work. Within a year, she was voicing advertisements for major brands across Telugu, Hindi, and English markets. She trained in voice technique at the Hyderabad School of Broadcasting and quickly became one of the most sought-after young voice-over artists in South India. Her screen debut came in the Telugu family drama Ammamma Cheppindi (2023), directed by Trivikram Srinivas's associate Koratala Siva Jr., where she played a young woman who discovers her grandmother's hidden dance legacy. Swati's natural warmth and her ability to deliver dialogue with musical precision made the film a box-office success. She followed this with the Telugu thriller Cheekatlo Velugu, where her commercial voice-over experience helped her deliver a performance of remarkable vocal subtlety.
