Vikram Reddy

Vikram Reddy's journey to acting began not on a stage but in a dojo. Growing up in Hyderabad, he trained in Kalaripayattu from the age of ten under guru Meenakshi Amma at the Kadathanadan Kalari Centre, later adding Taekwondo and mixed martial arts to his repertoire. By the time he finished school, Vikram held a black belt in Taekwondo and had won multiple state-level Kalaripayattu championships. But it was a chance encounter with stunt coordinator Parvez Khan on a Telugu film set that redirected his life toward cinema. Parvez recognized Vikram's rare combination of martial arts skill and natural screen presence, encouraging him to pursue formal acting training. Vikram enrolled at the L.V. Prasad Film & TV Academy in Chennai, where he studied acting for two years while continuing to train in combat choreography. His thesis short film, in which he performed all his own stunts, went viral on social media and caught the attention of Telugu director Sukumar's casting team. Vikram's feature debut in Yuddhabhumi (2022), a period action film set during the Kakatiya dynasty, established him as one of Telugu cinema's most promising action stars. He performed ninety percent of his own stunts, including a now-famous single-take fight sequence atop Golconda Fort. He followed this with the Hindi-Telugu bilingual Rakshak, where he played an undercover RAW agent, and the critically acclaimed Neelakasham, a quieter drama that proved he could deliver emotional nuance alongside physical prowess. Vikram is passionate about elevating the standard of action choreography in Indian cinema, advocating for better safety protocols and more creative fight design. He runs weekend workshops for aspiring stunt performers in Hyderabad and is developing an action-thriller web series that he plans to both star in and coordinate the stunts for.
