Casting in India is a patchwork. Mumbai runs on WhatsApp groups and coordinator networks. Hyderabad has its own set of talent managers who rarely overlap with Mumbai's. Chennai's casting circles are almost entirely separate. And cities like Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Kochi all have their own informal systems that don't talk to each other.
So when a Telugu production house needs a Hindi-speaking actor for a bilingual film, they end up calling someone they know in Mumbai and hoping that person knows the right people. When a Bollywood CD wants fresh faces from the South, they're stuck asking around or flying blind. The talent is out there, but the infrastructure to find it isn't.
Actors don't have it any easier. A trained performer in Jaipur or Lucknow has no real way to get in front of a casting director in Hyderabad. They're invisible unless they physically move to a metro and spend months building contacts from scratch.
